'There’s a poet in everyone', as the name suggests this book is for the budding poets or people who are interested in poetry writing but have no idea where to start, and so would rather read poetry and wait for inspiration to dawn on them, well art does inspire and does help the creative juices to flow better, but as is the case with every form of art, the world of poetry is vast and varied, and to know what a person will enjoy writing, it is very necessary for them to first know about the various poetic forms that exist.

The book starts off as a conversation between two friends, one already familiar with the art of poetry and the other who enjoys reading poetry but has no idea how to start writing, and so starts their story in which one friend shows the other how poetry is weaved in day to day language, starting with simple rhymes, to couplets and ballads, and then gradually moving on to the more diverse ones. They discuss over 40 types of poetry, giving beautiful yet simple to understand poetical examples of the same, it prompts the reader to try writing their own verses together with the characters of the book, the later part of the story sees the friend who just learnt about the different formats of poetry, going ahead and discovering new formats, since all of us know that creativity does not like to confine itself in boundaries, he starts enjoying the process of poetry writing, which prompts another learning session between the friends. The writing is such that it exuberates the joy of learning and the joy of discovering, and the inherent joy in creativity, the book is filled with poetic genius, poems which will make you stop and ponder over your thoughts for a long while.

The story is short and sweet, the characters flow through the narrative easily, and before one even knows it, the reader is hooked on for more; by far it is the simplest explanation of a topic of such wide and vast knowledge, this book is sure to land amongst your list of favourites.
