Book review - Maza - Ma - Maza by M.M Khan

About the book-

Maza Ma Maza - Let by gones be by gones .
It is a collection of Poems in Hindi and Urdu Languages which has been written by Poet M M Khan.

My Review-

This book is a collection of urdu poetic verses in the forms of nazm and ashaar.
The poetry is particularly based on human life, and the poems describe the different aspects of life that a man experiences during a lifetime, but it will be an injustice to call it only a collection of urdu poetic verses.
The writer has very intricately woven life experiences into stories which later on unfold into 37 different nazms and 910 ashaars, it is said that urdu is the language of the angels.
This book is a collection of life experiences woven in the beautiful language and decorated further with poetry, Maza Ma Maza very simply and beautifully depicts in complete detail every aspect of society, to name a few would be, treating all religions as equals, important aspects of daily life such as news, birthdays, engagements, the farewell of the bride etc. the author wrote about all of these experiences but with a twist in perspective, which grants them both a flavour of mystery and of uniqueness.
The more we read books the more we get to know about the world around us, books allow us to travel far and wide free of cost using just our imagination, the world is full of different culture and different languages,  this book itself is in indian language (Hindustani) which is a mix of hindi and urdu language, as is mentioned  in the book.
One of the chapters is based on chandrayan or the moon mission of India, the nazm talks about how the victory of the country makes everyone come together to celebrate no matter what caste, creed, or religion they belong to.
A few lines of the chapter go like this
“ Dharti ki khurafaat se vanchit,
hai suraj chand sitaare swarthy insaan ki iss duniya main, kya honge vaare nyaare ”
which points towards the irony of the fact that the victory us as humans aim for in the universe is full of selfish propagandas, while the universe on the other hand is the epitome of selfless love and acceptance.
There are many other poems on the same lines, which will for sure atleast once make you ponder over all aspects of human belief such as our morals, values, culture, and relationships.
If we talk about the couplets (ashaar) a few very beautiful lines that I found were these –
“ Jiye ja aye bande, zindagi hai anmol,
Khuda toh chahe hai, bas pyaar aur meethe bol.”
Reading all of this prolific work leaves you with a feeling of  affinity and interest. This book is for all the people who enjoy reading urdu poetry and love reading about society and philosophy. It sure is a beautiful treat of  perspectives in the form of a book.
